Peek Mag Profile "If the truth can be told so as to be understood, it will be believed".(Terence McKenna) That is the Peek Magazine mission statement. Knowledge is power, without knowledge we are nothing; we cannot think, act or communicate, and it is the knowledge of the global techno underground which Peek magazine will delve into, explore, strip the wires from and disseminate. By techno, I am not simply talking about a particular style of music, what I am talking about is the entire underground culture of the late 1990's that we have somehow got ourselves involved in. The culture which has been developing since the 60's, since our Prankster forefathers, since the psychedelic input of grandfathers like Pink Floyd, since the first ingestion of psychedelic plants by humans. Now you are getting closer to what Peek magazine is about. Peek, on top of all the usual record/party/kit/web reviews will have articles and features on artists, record labels, and groups/individuals working on the underground, both high profile and up and coming. Guest contributors will include DJ's, artists, record labels/distributors, and writers from all corners of the globe from whatever angle they are coming from, whether it be reviews of the latest releases, their Top 10, or an article from the underground. Peek Magazine will not have any commercial interests, it will not be swayed by such influences. It is truly urban and free. It's aim is to traverse the cutting edge, maintaining its balance and its clarity at all times. We have no political interests except the politics of human unity and human freedom. Mainstream culture seems to have become more selfish, more money orientated, and more isolated. As such its thinking has become more narrow minded. However, bubbling under its surface is a return to the 'old ways' of humanity. A way of life which not only sees a more communal unified way of thinking, but embraces it whole-heartedly. Peek Magazine will help to bridge those gaps between us; bring together people; inform them of what is happening under this surface over the whole globe. It will hopefully justify what people are already thinking, and maybe introduce people who up until now have been separated and not known why. If that sounds all a bit too serious, then you could not be further from the truth. An aspect of tongue in cheek will be prevalent throughout. As I am often heard to be saying: "If you are going to laugh about it in the future, then you might as well laugh at it now!"
